Simple, one-tier pricing

Free to search. $149/month for the full picture in bulk.

No public government fact about any single Nation is ever paywalled — search, browse, and export one Nation at a time for free, no account needed. A paid account is for anyone who needs that same sourced picture bundled across many Nations at once: companies doing their own due diligence, and consultants, lawyers, and analysts preparing assessments for someone else.

Built to automate

Not just a dashboard — a real API.

One key unlocks every non-admin endpoint — locate, Nation profiles and provenance, consultation references, and more — so you can query and assemble the source data however your own tools need it, not just pull the pre-built report. The bundled report below is the fastest path if that's genuinely all you need: one plain HTTPS call, the same one the "Download PDF" button on Locate makes behind the scenes. Prefer an AI assistant to a script? The same full access is also available as an MCP server — point Claude, ChatGPT, or any other MCP-compatible client at it with the same credential, including to build a chatbot of your own over the data.

Why $149/month

Manually piecing this together — band contact, governance, consultation history, language data, current priorities — across even a handful of Nations means hours of separate lookups across separate government sites, and the usual alternative is a consultant or law firm, where a single Indigenous impact assessment can run tens of thousands of dollars. Groundwork doesn't replace that expertise, but for the research and citation-gathering underneath it, unlimited bundled reports for less than the cost of one hour of consulting time is the idea.

Common questions

A few things worth knowing up front

Is any of the free data limited or a teaser?
No. Every fact about any single Nation — governance, contacts, renamed/former identities, language data, community priorities, consultation references — is free, in full, on the Locate page, no account needed. What's paid is two things: calling the API directly instead of through the page (your own scripts, tools, or an MCP-connected AI assistant), and bundling that same data across every Nation in a search radius into one call and one document, instead of one lookup per Nation.
Who is the paid tier actually for?
Anyone who needs the bundled, sourced version regularly — a company doing its own project due diligence, but just as much a consulting firm, lawyer, or analyst preparing an assessment for a client. One account, used however often you need it.
How does billing work?
A recurring monthly subscription through PayPal. Manage or cancel it any time directly on PayPal's own site — there's no separate cancel flow to worry about getting stuck in.
Is there a discount for Nations?
Yes — once your Nation's profile is verified (claim it here), you're eligible for 75% off. The dataset is useful to a Nation in its own right, not just to companies assessing your territory — a single, organized, sourced contact list across every other Nation isn't available anywhere else. Reach out once verified and we'll send you a code.
What happens if I cancel?
Access to the bundled reports, the API, and the MCP server all stop immediately when the subscription lapses. The free Locate tool is never affected either way.
